How To Reset Your Password

This knowledgebase article will offer step-by-step instructions on how students can reset their passwords through myBU. This password will allow students to access Canvas, myBU, and school-affiliated Microsoft applications and websites.
Important Note If you have not previously signed into your account and set up Multi-Factor Authentication, you will not be able to reset your password. You can visit https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info to set this up.
1: Resetting your Password
- Go to myBU and select "BU Password Reset"
2: Verify your BU Email Address
- The link will take you to the Microsoft Online Password Reset, where you need to enter your email and perform a reCAPTCHA.
- Select "Next"
3: Choose a Method to Verify your Identity.
- After selecting your preferred method, either enter the verification code sent to you or answer the security questions. Once completed successfully, you will be prompted to enter a new password.
Once changed your new password can take up to 30 minutes to fully propagate across all BU systems.
